Music lessons began In mid-September at the location of the future Youth Center in La Placita. Our first volunteer teacher is working with a small groups of primary school children from the area.
These are the young adults from the neighboring indigenous town of El Duin. They are planning to help teach the children at the primary school in La Ticla music lessons and band performance.
On our next visit, we plan to setup lesson schedules and coordinate activities with music teachers and deliver sound systems for the school in La Ticla and future home of the Youth Center in La Placita.
On our recent visit in October, we visited the indigenous reservation towns of Palmaro and Ostula, both very impoverished communities in Aquila. View the photo journal from the visit.
